What Steps Are Involved in Working With a Mortgage Coach?

Loan officers who want to grow their business often wonder what the process actually looks like when working with a mortgage coach. In the mortgage industry, Dan Manginelli is known for a clear, structured coaching system that helps loan officers increase production and build stronger business relationships.

The first step in Dan Manginelli’s process is a complete self-assessment of the loan officer’s business. This review looks at where business currently comes from, how referral relationships are built, and the level of product knowledge the loan officer brings to the market. The goal is to understand what is already working and identify the biggest opportunities for growth.

The second step is placement into a small group of four loan officers with similar goals and challenges. These groups are designed to create focused collaboration and accountability. By working with peers who face similar situations, loan officers can share strategies, stay motivated, and learn what approaches are driving production for others.

The third step involves access to a digital tracking system that automatically feeds into a performance dashboard. This tool tracks key numbers like leads to loans, loans to applications, and loans to funded deals. Instead of guessing which activities drive results, loan officers gain clear insight into how their daily actions affect production.

Through this process, Dan Manginelli helps loan officers move beyond simply making calls. His system teaches them how to contact the right people, build stronger partnerships, and turn consistent activity into real growth.

Many loan officers say Dan’s structured coaching process and tracking tools helped them better understand their numbers and significantly increase their production.

Never Compromise

As I was sitting down to write this morning, a great quote from the hall of fame baseball great Willie Mays came to mind, “It isn’t hard to be good from time to time. What’s tough is being good every day.” The reason why was, I made a comment to myself that I committed to that I would lose 10 pounds in 30 days. Though I work out daily, I felt I wanted to push myself to a new goal to stay focused on my diet.

So While I have been on track for a week and a half now, I was thinking what I was going to write today while watching pre game football, and then it happened. A commercial for pizza! Oh no, if any of you know me or heard me speak, you know I call pizza the “devils pie.” I love pizza and know I can’t just have one piece, so I choose not to eat it. But I’m sooo hungry right now, but that is what the little guy in my head is saying. He is also telling me, its no big deal, you can go get pizza, eat the whole pie and no one will know. Does this sound familiar to anyone else? Your success and your actions are not based on what others will know or think about you, your success and whatever you do, is only up to you and your commitment to yourself. Only you control you!

Let’s Face it the reason we all quit our diet, or stop going to a gym, or stop prospecting for new business is because it’s HARD. We start, we commit, it gets hard, and the little guy in your head gives you all the reasons to stop and justifies “well, at least you tried.” If we all had that will power or discipline, we would all reach our goals every week, every month, every year. That is what makes it much sweeter when you succeed.

So just remember those words from the great Willie Mays, “It isn’t hard to be good from time to time. What’s tough is being good every day.” Don’t get talked out of your commitment and don’t let others talk you out of your pledge to success. You have to push through the hard times and maintain your discipline. You have to know you will be tested daily and you have heard me say, the only difference from the average and the achiever is one simple thing; The achiever is willing to do, what the average wont. Be good every day and make this wee count!

Ps. Just in case you are wondering, I’m eating a celery stick while writing this. No devils pie today!

Personal Challenge

My question for this week is, “What is your challenge of the week?”

Most of you who are reading this are in sales and I know for a fact sales people love contests and competition. In my years in sales I have seen average sales people rise up to a challenge just to be recognized with a small prize. We all like the feeling of wining, feeling important, the feeling of being the best at any given task. So why don’t we throw down a challenge for ourselves each week with a small prize?

This past week, while I was at the driving range with my children, we were all hitting balls into the range. We were all having fun but no real target or focus. So when I saw them getting board I threw down a challenge. I said, “We will all take turns and the first one who gets closest to the red flag (about 75 yards out) can get whatever they want from the snack shack.

Well our little friendly outing soon turned into a PGA tour event. Each of my children set their ball down, focused on their shot, took one or two practice swings and really, really wanted to get it close.

Then it really hit me, this challenge wasn’t for the candy, it was for the feeling of winning and being the best at that moment. It was for going home and telling everyone who won. At that moment it made me realize that is most of us in our lives. We wonder around just swinging until someone says, “I challenge you” and then the focus kicks in! So this week write down your challenge and share it with those close to you who will help you stay on track. And then don’t give up.

While I was thinking of this challenge idea, I knew that I had heard of it before. So when I arrived at home, I pulled out my copy of “How To Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie and low and behold, there it was. Principle 12 says, “Throw down a challenge.” In that chapter it says that every successful person loves a challenge, the game, the chance for self-expression. Everyone wants the chance to prove his or her net worth to excel and win. That is what makes a footrace; a hog-calling contest and pie-eating contest; the desire for the feeling of importance.

We all need that in our lives and we all desire that feeling. So instead of relying on your company or anyone else to extend a challenge, make a challenge for yourself. It will really make a difference and make you into a winner. And finally, really make this week count!

Have Faith

This week’s plan of action, I realized that it was filled with a lot of faith in others and myself, and with a lot of hope that things will happen as they are supposed to. Those who know me reading this know that I am very optimistic. Even in the face of chaos, major adversity, and failures, I always seem to know that the best is yet to come. So it is hard for me to understand why people lose hope because life still has a bigger plan for them.

Life is filled with disappointment, let downs, and failures so accept it and look for the lesson and know there is something greater coming. Whatever your business or career, you are going to fail, you are going to make a mistake, and you are going to have a big blunder. The only thing you can control is what happens after!

I have had failures, made big mistakes, and had the blunders that cost others and me a lot. So I have a choice, focus on what happened and let if affect my future, or have HOPE that God has a bigger plan for me and those past failures do not define my character or me.

Having hope and faith in life and others is what will keep you going. Your life might be hard right now, your business might be down, your relationship might be rocky but you must keep hope that you were not made for mediocrity but you were created for greatness.

The great Martin Luther king, Jr. said, “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”

Keep the hope this week that things will and do always get better and really make this week count!
